Purpose: Supporting children through difficult times and with trauma
Training is offered by Shireen Thomas-Stark, a qualified registered Counselling Psychologist in methodologies and principles of play therapy for children aged 3 to 11 years.
Develop an understanding of how play therapy can be used in a pastoral way to nurture children to wholeness or healing, as well as trauma debriefing for children.
This 15-hour course is held over 4 weeks.

What is SAAP?
The need for pastoral work
South Africans suffer from spiritual wounds and stress. The causes are many - the lack of reconciliation, poverty, HIV/AIDS, unemployment, ongoing violence, crime and transformation in the workplace. Problems in the family, marriage and relationships are compounded by the issues such as debt and work-related stress.
An overwhelmed society needs trained caregivers to actively become part of the healing process.
